It can be something simple like not walking past a piece of paper on the floor. But there are also deliberate crossovers in the way we work. It’s all about using business services resources more flexibly - like mailroom people who take responsibility for switching off lights, re-stocking copiers or checking the washrooms as part of their patrol.
Training plays a huge part in all of this. When we TUPE our people across, we carry out a full week’s induction programme – held on-site and run by specialist trainers. We see people learning to think and work in new and much more efficient ways. The positive effect on morale and productivity is immediate.
