At 14forty, we're excited to announce our latest partnership – a fully customised, three-year contract to provide cleaning, security and managed services at the Solvay chemical plant in Warrington. The contract kicked off in July this year and was taken on by the 14forty team in just 30 days. This partnership complements the existing on-site workplace catering services delivered by our sister brand, Eurest, and makes our role at Solvay all the more comprehensive.
Solvay has nearly 100 sites across 61 countries and a workforce of over 22,000 employees. In the heart of Cheshire, the Solvay Interox site manufactures hydrogen peroxide for pulp and paper bleaching, disinfection, environmental treatment, chemical synthesis and aquaculture. Due to the hazardous chemicals present and the production processes it operates, Solvay Interox is classed as an upper-tier COMAH (Control of Major Accident Hazards Regulations 2015) site.
Fortunately, our tailored solutions and adaptable, expert team are ready to take on the challenges that come with managing the day-to-day of such a complex operation.
Our Managing Director, Mauro Ortelli, explains: "Our cleaning teams are responsible for the factory floor, offices, bathrooms, laundry and site restaurant. Because the plant is COMAH registered, they must have a full understanding of all Solvay’s manufacturing procedures, conduct risk assessments, wear PPE and only go into designated areas when it is safe to do so.
Given what Solvay manufacture on site, security is paramount and our officers, who man the gates 24 hours a day, welcome visitors, patrol the perimeter, and also undertake rigorous checks of permitted movements in and out of site.
