Who are Cadent?
14forty are pleased to announce that it has won a £15m total facilities management (TFM) contract with Cadent Gas to provide soft and hard services across more than 70 UK sites.
Cadent is the UK’s largest gas distribution network. It manages a network of more than 80,000 miles of pipe, most of it underground, which transports gas to approximately 11 million customers.
Under the new three-year agreement, we will serve 15 large office premises and a variety of critical supply depots for Cadent’s gas engineers, who maintain, repair and replace piping and respond to emergency callouts.
We have worked with Cadent since 2016, but previously only supplied soft FM services, such as reception, catering, cleaning and security.
A few words from Mauro Ortelli
“We’ve worked hard over the last five years to win the client’s trust and build an excellent working relationship,” explained Mauro Ortelli, 14forty’s Managing Director. “So, when our original contract was due for renewal we incorporated hard FM services, which relate to physical building structures, into our provision. Previously, these were undertaken by another company, but the client loved our proposal and gave us the work.
"Under the hard FM provision of its new contract, we will maintain, service and repair all hard service lines including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, power generation, CCTV and other site safety systems at all Cadent’s UK sites.
"In addition, the company will continue to provide soft FM services, as well as manage contractors for elements of service delivery to the client from potholes and pest control to ad hoc cleaning requests."
Mauro continued: “We have a dedicated Cadent team that includes managers responsible for performance, technical services and individual UK regions, plus nearly 200 operatives on the ground who deliver the work.
“Cadent’s gas distribution network is a key part of the UK’s infrastructure and I am proud to say these individuals have worked continuously throughout the pandemic, helping Cadent to keep its critical systems running. They have allowed us to expand our remit with one of our most important clients and for this we thank them.”
